Friendly reminder: there is no club meeting tomorrow, 9/29/26, because it is Club Awareness Day! We will have a table for our club, and we encourage everyone, including current members, to stop by and say hi. Our table will be adjacent to the main quad (where club row is held). All leadership, including our 4 new board members, will be present. Our next club meeting is on 10/6/26, and we will give a CAD presentation.
Today we held a single-day experiment/project where we competed in teams to build a paper bridge design that could withstand as much weight as possible. Congrats to team 8 for beating the all-time club record by managing 5.7kg on their bridge! Congrats to teams 6 & 9 as well, tied at 5kg, which is also a new club record for second place.
Fall 2026! Welcome! I hope that everyone had a wonderful Summer Break. First, let me take a moment to welcome all of the incoming students to Santa Monica College. I hope all of you enjoy your time at this wonder school. Meeting times and days have shifted, being Tuesdays at 11:45am. Starting day isn't confirmed, but I'll update everyone when it's been decided.
